Abel & Cole keeps carrots crunchy in compostable veg bag

Abel & Cole compostable bag

Organic veg box service Abel & Cole has introduced a fully compostable veg bag to cut down on packaging waste and keep carrots and leafy veg fresher.

"We're always looking for new exciting innovations to share with our customers and are really thrilled with our new packaging which keeps our veg as fresh as possible while stopping condensation forming," explains Will Robinson, Head of Production at Abel & Cole.

"From time to time, some of our carrots became dehydrated in our veg boxes as the cardboard can draw out the moisture in them and make them a bit bendy. We knew this wasn't good enough so looked around for a solution which helped our carrots and was good for the environment."

The bags are made from bio-polyester, which is derived from corn starch. They decompose within six to eight weeks.
