Lush to open UK's first Naked shop – with added tech

Display in Lush

Lush will open is first plastic packaging-free cosmetics shop in the UK this week, packed with solid shampoo bars, soaps and lots of new beauty buys.

The store, on Manchester's Market Street, was a standard Lush before a renovation. On Friday January 18th it will reopen, freshly naked.

As well as ditching plastic packaging, the products will be free from information labels as well. Via a #LushLabs app, customers can scan items with their phones and clever tech will recognise the products and provide ingredient details and 'how to use' demos. Very smart.

Lush promises a free tote bag to the first 100 shoppers through the doors from noon on Friday too.
