When it comes to Best Before dates, Eat By dates and Use By dates, confusion reigns. A lot of thought is currently going into making it easier for people to know when their food's on the turn to prevent food waste, including the Bump Mark.

The Bump Mark is an expiry label which decays at the same rate as the food in the package thanks to its gelatine (unfortunately for vegetarians) composition. The label starts to feel bumpy as it breaks down, indicating that the food is going bad too – also making it ideal for visually impaired people.
