Body Shop balm aims to be saviour of the Amazon

The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm

The Body Shop is putting its Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm to good use, with a proportion of every purchase going towards the brand's Bio-Bridges mission.

Bio-Bridges are natural corridors that wildlife like orangutans, tigers and monkeys can use to move safely between habitats. The Body Shop aims to create ten of them, and to regenerate 75 million square metres of habitat by 2020.

You might have seen Reggie the Red-Shanked Douc monkey from Vietnam on London's Westminster Bridge last summer, promoting the project.

Just nine natural-origin ingredients go into the Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm (£9/50ml, with £1.30 going to the Building Bio Bridges Programme), including Community Trade organic babassu oil and organic andiroba oil from Brazil. It's good for all sorts of skin issues but has had especially good reviews for brightening up tattoos.
