Bottles and billboards turned into new bags

Hamilton Perkins Collection Earth bag

Hamilton Perkins Collection doesn't just want to be a bag manufacturer, it wants to be a problem solver. Cue the Earth bag, an all-in-one travel bag that converts into a backpack or duffle bag, made from recycled plastic bottles and billboard vinyl.

Currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, the roots of the Earth bag ($95, around £72, for the Lite or $295 or £224ish for the premium) start in developing nations like Haiti, where discarded plastic bottles are diverted from landfill to create the outside of the bag. Together with vinyl from repurposed billboards to make the inner lining, the bags are constructed in the USA.

A three-way zip-up compartment makes it easy to access belongings such as laptops, which fit neatly inside.

Hamilton Perkins Collection is a certified B Corporation and says it meets 'the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency'.
