Sick of your jeans falling apart? 'The closest thing to indestructible jeans available right now' have launched on Kickstarter and smashed its target to the tune of 500 per cent in the first 24 hours.
A sister project to Tom Cridland – the label offering T-shirts, shirts and sweatshirts designed to last 30 years – Half Century Jeans is going even better with denim to withstand a full five decades.
Made from super-durable Japanese selvedge denim sourced from Okayama with Spectra – a fibre 15 times stronger than cable steel, normally used for extreme sportswear – Half Century Jeans have been developed to be worn day in, day out, while remaining comfortable. And if they do get damaged, the brand is offering free repairs or replacements.
All the cotton used 100 per cent organic so they're more environmentally friendly when they're originally made too.
The earliest-bird Kickstarter pledges were snapped up straightaway, so now you're looking at £69 a pair, or less if you fill your wardrobe with them.
