Henrica Langh's debut ready-to-wear collection – Memento Mori/Agliophobia – has been updated, with a pre-sale available on Indiegogo.
Each item in the collection is manufactured ethically in natural fibres such as organic-certified cotton, by small businesses in Tallinn, Estonia. Sustainability is woven into the range, particularly the concept of mortality and life cycles: each Henrica Langh garment is easy to take apart to recycle once it reaches the end of its life.
The designs themselves reflect this: stand-out pieces are cotton tees with slogans in the memento mori tradition, such as Your Ribcage Will Grow the Most Beautiful Flowers. Creepy, but cool. A donation to plant a tree will be made for every purchase too.
The Agliophobia (which is the irrational fear of being hurt) element is higher end: a trench coat, a button-up blouse, double-sleeved shirt and wide-leg trousers make up the range.
The crowdfunding campaign is also offering memento mori perks in the form of posters, cards and temporary tattoos, plus Fashion with Heart slogan tote bags.
