H&M has revealed its Conscious Exclusive collection for 2017, featuring occasionwear made from recycled waste.
Described as 'a premium collection made for special occasions' the new line includes glamorous eveningwear that proves sustainable doesn't equal sackcloth: a flagship piece 'is an ethereal gown of flowing pleats' made from Bionic, a polyester fabric made from recycled shoreline waste, featuring dream-like peony and mimosa prints.
Elsewhere you'll find a short cocktail dress made from recycled polyester, a lounge jacket in organic silk and Tencel, a fishnet bag manufactured entirely from recycled shoreline waste and earrings made from recycled glass and plastic.
For this season, H&M has expanded the Conscious Exclusive to include childrenswear – look out for little tulle dresses, structured blazers and trousers – and fragrances containing organic oils. There are also menswear pieces.
"H&M's Conscious Exclusive collection shows how the best style can be mindful of the planet, to help protect it for the future. It's such a desirable collection, with pieces made in sustainable materials that you want to wear for seasons to come," says supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova, the face of the campaign and founder of charity networking platform Elbi.
The H&M Conscious Exclusive 2017 collection will be available from April 20th and comes hot on the heels of its Denim United range, which features organic and recycled cotton.
