The new collection of statement earrings from Icelandic jewellery brand Aurum has been inspired by birds and by waves breaking on fjords.
The silver Swan earrings representing the layered wings of a swan, while Falcon lends its name to a design conveying the independence, strength and determination of the bird of Iceland's historic and iconic bird.
The Asterias range, in sterling silver, silver oxidised or sterling silver with gold plate, 'is inspired by rhythmical waves quietly breaking on a forgotten beach in the West fjords and evoke both the black terrain and the everlasting cycle of water that has no beginning and no end'.
Aurum says it only sources recycled and re-refined precious metals and conflict-free precious stones and diamonds for its pieces, which are packaged in mulberry paper, a material that can be made without cutting down trees. Each piece is handmade in the brand's workshop in Reykjavík.
