LEAF London throws single-use plastic out of new swimwear line

New swimwear brand LEAF London launches today with a declaration to tackle ocean plastic. Its swimming cossies – cool but wearable one-pieces and bikinis – are made from recycled polyester, with no single-use plastic used in its processes, packaging or shipping methods.

The start-up is also donating £1 of every sale to UK-based marine conservation and research charity Just One Ocean, while working to raise awareness of the issue of plastic litter – 8 million metric tonnes of which ends up in the ocean each year, it notes – itself.

LEAF London says it will be adding pieces made from organic bamboo 'in the near future' too, so keep an eye out.
