Needles out: The Big Stitch upcycling challenge returns

Sewing professionals for The Big Stitch

The Big Stitch is back for 2018, the campaign celebrating how charity shop finds can be turned into perfectly personalised fashion while raising money for the British Heart Foundation.

The charity wants us all to buy something from one of its shops, upcycle it into something incredible and post before and after photos on the socials with the hashtag #TheBigStitch.

There are prizes for the best ones, but it's the satisfaction of turning someone's unloved clothes into your new favourite outfit that counts, right?

The sewing challenge will run from July 1st to 15th, with tips and inspo from pro sewists Alexandra Bruce, Gabby Young, Rosabella Riddington and Sarah McKenna (pictured) online now.
