New high-end vegan skincare brand Orveda says its 18 product-strong range is based on a vision of health, rather than 'superficial anti-ageing'.
A lot's gone into the range – available at Harvey Nichols and online – including a natural prebiotic, the bio-fermented drink kombucha and an enzyme from Californian marine bacteria that brings its ability to withstand high-temperature volcanic waters to protect and restore the skin.
Orveda Founder Sue Y Nabi also drew from Taoism and ancient Ayurvedic, Naturopathic and Chinese traditions to create a holistic range that focuses on health and healing.
The collection's 'star product' is The Healing Sap (£125), described as an 'all-in-one glow shot' – a restorative toner-serum hybrid that 'is designed to act as a fertiliser for the good bacteria that lives on our skin'.
Each product is vegan, free of alcohol, parabens, artificial colours and other nasties, and is packaged up in sustainably sourced, recyclable glass and plastic and FSC-certified paper.
