People looking to cut their plastic use in the bathroom could do a lot worse than Soap Folk, especially when its latest organic soaps have the subtle scents of classic British drinks.
The new Juniper Berry Soap (£5.95/115g) contains naturally oil-absorbing and soothing kaolin clay as well as mildly antibacterial organic juniper berry essential oil – can anyone smell gin? – making it a good choice for 'problem' skin. Soap Folk says it was inspired by the native juniper shrubs growing on the nearby National Trust Commons land.
And, for fans of Earl Grey tea, there's Lemon & Bergamot Soap (also £5.95/115g). Described as 'sunshine in a bar', the yellow bar is both refreshing and balancing for oily skin thanks to its olive and sunflower oils.
Certified organic by the Soil Association, handmade in the Cotswolds using traditional cold processed methods and suitable for vegetarians, Soap Folk's bars ticks a lot of boxes – and then wraps them all up in simple paper.
