People Tree drops second horticultural collection with V&A

Model for People Tree V&A

Almost as soon as we had decided which of People Tree's new pieces designed with the V&A we wanted the most, the ethical fashion label went ahead and dropped a second collection, this time with a seed print.

Like the tulip design, the new seed pattern is based on a dress fabric from the 1930s by the Calico Printers' Association in Manchester, now found in the V&A's archive. Each piece is made from 100 per cent organic cotton by tailors at People Tree's fair-trade partner Creative Handicrafts in Mumbai.

The new navy, red and ecru collection comprises a button-through coat dress (£119), shirt (£79), frill dress (£95) and wide-leg trousers (£95). The cotton makes them cool enough for summer but the shades are very AW17-friendly too.

Other new launches from People Tree include striped logo tees, cat and hedgehog motifs, smart yoga gear, summer must-have gingham blouses and more grown-up florals.
