Vivienne Westwood revealed her SS18 collection at London Fashion Week Men's yesterday, continuing her environmental agenda and ethos of 'Buy Less Choose Well, Make it Last'.
The show featured models wearing fishnet tights stuffed with litter and black prints on natural white. According to the designer's blog, these look 'like a spotty animal print but which are really meant to be the noughts which endlessly multiply money by ten over and over. We only need a few to Save the Rainforest but billions disappear every day in global inflation'. Symbolic playing card patterns also appeared in the circus-themed show.
Prior to the show, Westwood also called for the public to switch to renewable energy company Ecotricity and – a little controversially in the fashion industry – to not buy anything this season.
