Meat-free restaurant brand 1847 – named for the year the Vegetarian Society was born – has increased its vegan offerings to around 80 to 90 per cent of the menu in each of its three branches.
In Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol the new spring menu has abundant choices for plant-based foodies, along with a vegan wine list.
"We've always tried to push the boundaries of vegetarian food and I've been championing that ethos for the past eight years," comments Damien Davenport, Owner of 1847.
"One of the biggest changes I've seen since opening 1847 is the change in perception to the vegan lifestyle. Of course we all want to protect animals, but there has been a much better understanding to the lifestyle benefits of following a vegan diet which has enabled this to become much more acceptable and mainstream."
