Ben & Jerry's dares to go dairy-free

Ben & Jerry's dairy-free desserts

After months of making us wait, Ben & Jerry's has finally launched its dairy-free ice-creams in the UK.

Certified Fairtrade and vegan, and made with almonds (and, presumably, quite a lot of sugar – we're not saying it's healthy), the new range is available in pints of Chocolate Fudge Brownie, banana-y Chunky Monkey and Peanut Butter & Cookies flavours.

We seem to be missing the exclusive dairy-free Coffee Caramel Fudge dessert launched in the USA last year, but we're hoping the other three flavours will make up for it.

The new range has come about following serious customer demand. Here's what Ben & Jerry's said: "We asked you. Lots of you. Some of you are committed to a vegan lifestyle, while others can't or would rather not eat dairy. And all of you are missing the indulgent frozen delights you wish you could enjoy. We knew that with some hard work and experimentation we could deliver the taste and creamy texture you've been craving. So we did."

Ask, and you will get.
