Good news, Londoners: a new restaurant is opening in Shoreditch selling food that's organic and vegan, and it's called Genesis.
Alex and Oliver Santoro are in charge of the place (which looks outrageously cool, judging by the monochrome branding and pastel plates) and will offer plant-based, GMO-free dishes inspired by their world travel. Expect things like Char Kway Teow from Malaysia, Indian street food Aloo Tikki Chaat, the American Woman burger (presumably not literally) and Tel Aviv Cauliflower plus vegan comfort food staples Mac & Cheese and Brownie Sundae. There'll be organic beers and wines too.
Weirdly, the Santoros hail from a family that has been working in the meat industry for a century. They're now both vegans but their experience may well give them the chops to deliver the kind of food that meat-eaters want as much as vegans.
Genesis opens next week and rumour (AKA the restaurant on Twitter) has it that they'll be giving away 100 veggie burgers or hot dogs on September 11th.
