Make plans for plantain, the latest healthier snack

Purely plantain chips

The famously choosy foodie folks at Fortnum & Mason are now stocking Purely plantain chips, suggesting this new snack may be one to watch in 2019.

Already spotted in other fancy retailers Selfridges and Harvey Nichols (plus Planet Organic), the plantain snack is both vegan-friendly and gluten free with, we're told, a '30 per cent lower fat footprint than traditional potato crisps'. Purely adds that it 'uses only sustainably farmed plantain from Ecuador'.

Purely plantain chips launch 2

While it looks like its health-food-shop-dwelling tropical cousin, banana chips, Purely is available in Wild Garlic, Nice and Spicy and Natural Salted flavours, with more to come this spring.
