More 'best before' dates binned at Tesco

Tesco says it will remove 'best before' dates from 116 more products in a bid to stop edible food going in the bin. Apples, oranges, asparagus and cabbages will go sans date, following 70 other produce items being stripped of their date label earlier this year.

The supermarket says the move is in response to new research that shows 69 per cent of customers think getting rid of 'best before' dates is a good idea and 53 per cent think it would make a difference to how much food gets thrown away.
