Good work, Pret: the high-street coffee chain has just announced people who bring in their own reusable cup will get 50p off a hot drink, in a move to cut the massive number of paper cups going to landfill.
This morning, CEO Clive Schlee tweeted this, which set Pret A Manger trending on Twitter in the UK: "I'm delighted you can now get 50p off a hot drink when you bring your reusable cup to @Pret. I hope this will make a difference."
In a response to a comment, Pret also says that 'number three on our list of actions towards reusable cups is to add more ceramic mugs to shops in 2018, as and where we can'.
In August 2017, Pret started offering a 25p discount for people bringing in their own cups, while in October it installed free drinking water taps at its three Veggie Pret locations in London and all of its Manchester branches.
