Tesco has released what it's calling 'a unique watermelon ice lolly' – a bit of a blessing for those looking for a healthy treat in hot weather.
Sold in packs of four (£2), the 'lollies' are literally just blocks of watermelon on sticks which, TBH, you could do yourself at home, but they do take some of the faff away.
"Iced watermelon is the perfect accompaniment to a hot summer's day," says Tesco's Produce Buying Manager David Daniels. "These thirst-quenching frozen lollies, made from a real piece of fruit, are a delicious and healthy alternative to a sweet treat for all the family." Can't argue with that.
The supermarket giant has estimated it will sell a total of 750,000 melons this weekend, along with over 1 million bags of salads, 600 tonnes of strawberries and more than 21 million bottles or cans of beer.
