Ellie Good deserves a thank-you card: her collection of 40 greetings cards should last at least a year of frantic last-minute notes and special occasions.
Printed with eco-friendly vegetable-based inks on recycled material, the A Year of Cards set (£34.99, which works out as 88p per card – bargain) cover everything from Christmas and Easter to birthdays and house-warmings, with some blank ones too.
Being a mum, Ellie has designed the cards (with envelopes) for busy families, with designs suitable for a range of recipients.
"As soon as a family comes along we are all rushed for time," she says. "All too often I was thinking 'S***, I need to get out and buy a card for this, that and the other'. It was always a last-minute rush to find something suitable and ended up being more expensive buying individual and pretty 'generic' cards."
The Buckinghamshire-based illustrator adds: "The packs use less packaging so is cheaper and more sustainable to produce." Nice one.
