DIY to save energy from draughty floors

Winter's dragging on, so now's a good time to have another look at how our homes could be losing heat and energy. If you're feeling a draught through your floorboards, there are DIY products to help.

StopGap (£4.79/5m) 'is a new type of draught seal', says retailer ItDoesTheJob.com, that can be fitted in the shadow at the bottom of the gap between floorboards, sealing off draughts, noise, smells and dirt without altering the appearance of the floor.

It is made from plastic, but the brand says it's reusable since there's no adhesive involved, and could help you keep toasty without turning the heating up.
