NW Bicester ploughs forward with zero-carbon homes

Fabrica Elmsbrook

NW Bicester, the UK's first eco-town, will soon be home to Elmsbrook, a new development of houses built to true zero carbon standards.

Described as the country's first true zero carbon residential project of its size by developer Fabrica, the two- to five-bedroom homes (£295,000 to £530,000) at Elmsbrook are currently being constructed.

The houses will feature triple-glazed windows, solar panels, central heat and power systems, energy efficient ventilation, garden rainwater storage, smart electricity meters and A++ rated kitchen appliances, setting a standard for new-builds.

The new Oxfordshire neighbourhood will also be connected to the rest of NW Bicester by a network of cycle and pedestrian pathways and be surrounded by green spaces.
