BuyMeOnce seeks to break period taboo with OrganiCup and Orethic Organic

OrganiCup and Orethic Organic products

Online retailer BuyMeOnce is all about buying things that last, so its latest additions are perfect: reusable sanitary towels and menstrual cups. The store is also working with the brands behind the products to raise awareness of reusables and break period taboos.

The menstrual cup (£22) from Danish brand OrganiCup is made from medical-grade silicone, making it suitable for sensitive skin, and comes in an organic cotton storage pouch and in a biodegradable carton. OrganiCup has donated menstrual cups for underprivileged girls via women’s charities including The Cup Foundation, WoMena and Wise Economy, and worked with UK organisations No More Taboo and Freedom4Girls to help alleviate period poverty.

Also new on BuyMeOnce are four colourways of reusable sanitary pads (from £9.95 each) from Orethic Organic, which are made from fair-trade organic cotton and bamboo fabric, with no nylon (unlike a lot of similar products) – making them biodegradable at the end of their long lives.

If you follow BuyMeOnce on the socials you'll be hearing more about these brands and how these types of sanitary products can save a whole lot of plastic from going to landfill.
