Scientists estimate that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea. Those fish are probably pretty keen on going plastic-free this July – and they'd be joining over a million people across the world in doing so.
Plastic Free July started in Perth, Western Australia in 2011 and is now a global campaign to reduce our daily plastic use. Plastic is everywhere but we have to start somewhere: saying no to 5p carrier bags in the supermarket and drinking straws in the pub, filling your own reusable water bottle and supporting food retailers that use compostable packaging are all little things we can do.
There's heaps of advice on the Plastic Free July website, or check out #PlasticFreeJuly on social media for inspiration.
