Superheroes to help children make healthier food choices

A new children's book series aims to help younger kids make healthier food choices through a fun story, colourful illustrations and recipes for snacks that readers can make.

The first Academy for Health Superheroes book by Dr Agnes Electra Chlebinska and David W Evans is The Heart (£16.99) and introduces the Health Superheroes – made up of humans, animals, organs and food – and a bad guy, the Junk Food Monster.

The writers say they want to educate children about healthy lifestyles following predictions that childhood obesity will be one of the most serious global health challenges in the 21st century. Academy for Health Superheroes is aimed at children aged six to nine years old.
