The Humble Co rolls out the dental floss

The Humble Co dental floss

The Humble Co – you may have seen its bamboo toothbrushes? – has launched a new line of dental floss made of corn.

The Fresh Mint, Lemon or Cinnamon-flavoured floss is coated with natural candelilla wax instead of the standard animal-derived gelatine or PFC (a chemical compound linked to both human health and environmental issues, says the brand).

It's also packaged in a recyclable cardboard carton which doubles up as a dispenser. The Humble Co says up to 700 million dental floss containers end up in our oceans and landfills every year, so this is a small but smart move.

And, it does the same job as normal floss by helping to get rid of plaque, and to prevent tartar build-up, tooth decay and gum disease.

If you choose a Humble Co toothbrush, the Swedish brand will donate funds to the Humble Smile Foundation, a programme to promote oral health around the world.
