You know what it's like: you pop into Waitrose for a loaf of bread and come out with a trolley-full of relaxed wellbeing. That's the plan, anyway – the supermarket is trialling yoga classes in three of its branches.
Qualified, local yoga professionals will be running evening classes in Basingstoke, Newbury (from February 12th) and Banbury (from February 19th), catering for all levels. They'll cost £7 per session or £35 for six sessions – so probably cheaper than nipping into the shop for a few bits.
"My recommendation is to eat well and move well so yoga in a supermarket could be the perfect balance," says Sam Rao, Senior Yoga Teacher – whose school is running the classes at Waitrose.
"Yoga works the whole body and is a discipline for all. Stretching and working the muscles has always been associated with releasing stress both in the body and the mind, leading to good health."
If the trial is successful, we could be seeing yoga classes in more Waitrose branches.
