Living Streets urges public to back Oxford Street plans

Transport for London's artists' impressions of Oxford Street plans

This week, incredible images of what London's Oxford Street could look like without traffic were released and a lot of people (including Clearly) got very excited by it. Cleaner air, less noise, better accessibility – it would generally be a nicer place to be.

However, there is some opposition to the plans – which would essentially ban polluting buses and other vehicles from a busy road – so pro-pedestrian organisation Living Streets is urging everyone to show their support.

Even people who live outside London can have their say via a public consultation, which is open until December 17th 2017.

Living Streets has been campaigning for the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street for some time; check out these videos made with RNIB to show how its transformation could be sooo good for people as well as the environment.
