Pass it on Week plays a different tune for 2018

Playing a trumpet

This year's Pass it on Week (March 10th to 18th) is all about the music: an amnesty hopes to find new homes for unused musical instruments across Scotland.

Lots of young people are keen to learn an instrument but they can be pricy, while lots of other people have guitars, trumpets and drums boxed away, unplayed. It's quite sad really.

There are over 60 collection partners waiting to receive musical donations as part of Recycle for Scotland's annual reuse campaign (although pianos don't seem very welcome) while there are also themed activities happening to help spread the word.

Pass it on Week actually covers everything that you might have hanging around the house, unloved or perhaps slightly damaged, like clothes, toys, electrical appliances and furniture, offering a fantastic opportunity to give it all a new life.
