Upcycling artist turns love songs into portraits

Do you and your partner have a song? Artist Ben Riley can turn it, literally, into a portrait.

Now available online via VeryFirstTo (but it ain't cheap), Ben Riley's work is made from old LPs that have been smashed to dust and grit, and added to a canvas like paint or charcoal to produce a picture. Larger pieces of the record, including the labels, create shadow and texture.

Typically recreating the image of rock 'n' roll stars – with Pharrell Williams apparently among the collectors of his work – Riley has now tackled a couple's portrait.
