Earth Day is upon us again: a worldwide environmental movement on April 22nd, this year with the message End Plastic Pollution.
How many plastic items do you use? Could you pledge to reduce it? If all of us did so, we could make a significant impact on one of the world's biggest environmental problems. But it's not just individuals; organisations, cities and whole countries are being urged to take action on single-use plastic.
There are lots of other campaigns happening on Earth Day, covering diverse subjects including deforestation, women and girls in leadership, faith and the environment, and Athletes for the Earth – which handily coincides with the London Marathon.
It's expected that 1 billion people in 192 countries take part in Earth Day each year. Follow @EarthDayNetwork on the socials to see how you can get involved.
