How clean are your sheets? A laundry company claims to offer the UK's first eco-friendly service to hotels.
Called The Eco Laundry, it provides commercial services to the hospitality industry – think holiday homes and inns – so could be something to consider when you're booking your next trip away.
As well as using eco-friendly detergents and canvas hampers rather than plastic, The Eco Laundry's washing machines are powered by renewable energy and use untreated water from a natural borehole, heated with a biomass boiler.
Owner Lola Grogan explains why she launched The Eco Laundry: "I was working with a number of holiday homes and couldn't find a laundry which offered a fully environmentally friendly service, many simply offered eco-friendly detergents and that was it. I've always been passionate about using renewable energy and preserving and caring for our precious natural environment, it was therefore the next logical step to launch my own eco-laundry."
The Eco Laundry currently with businesses including The Seahorse, Barrington House, The Cott Inn and Bespoke Devon.
