There are plenty of vegan events happening this summer, with all the plant-based foodie treats, fashion, talks, music, workshops and family activities you could ask for. And an organiser of the several vegan festivals says it will be doing its best to reduce food waste while helping out local homeless people.
Vegan Events UK is asking its stall holders to donate any surplus food at the end of the festivals to volunteer teams, who'll distribute hot meals and cold dishes.
Roll up to the Brighton Vegan Summer Fest (June 2nd and 3rd), the Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival in Leeds (June 16th and 17th), the Scotland Vegan Festival in Glasgow (July 14th), the Plymouth Vegan Festival (July 21st) and the Bath Vegan Festival (July 28th).
"With the vegan lifestyle really starting to go mainstream there's a massive demand around the country for vegan-friendly events," comments Festival Organiser Victoria Bryceson.
"The idea behind the festivals is to educate and inform everyone about the vegan lifestyle and offer support to anybody who would like it."
