Love clothes, don't landfill 'em: swap and style for Fashion Revolution Week

Piles of clothes

It's Fashion Revolution Week and there are plenty of events happening, like the Swap and Style event happening in London on April 24th (10am-12pm).

Under the banner of #LoveNotLandfill, the event will see stylist Emma Slade-Edmondson help eco-fashionistas discover and style new outfits from LM Barry in Canning Town, the city's largest fashion recycling warehouse.

As well as a chance to grab a new outfit – and get snapped by the event's fashion photographer – there's an important message about giving clothes new life rather than sending them to landfill, where they release nasty climate change gases. Plus, it's an awful waste of work, resources and potential fashion fabulousness.

You can also swap your unwanted clothes with new items from LM Barry's treasure trove of togs.

You'll have to book a place for your morning of rummaging and pay a deposit (£15) which you'll get back on arrival, with the proceeds from non-attendance going to Fashion Revolution.
