Stats suggest British people aren't planning to travel far for our holidays this year: the UK itself is expected to be the most popular destination.

Travel trade association ABTA recently found that 66 per cent of the British population are looking to stay here – followed by Europe (63 per cent) and North America (14 per cent) – and now the Camping and Caravanning Club has reported a ten per cent rise in bookings at its sites compared to last year.

Sales of caravans and motorhomes were up in 2017 too, according to the National Caravan Council.

The ABTA stats, cited by the Camping and Caravanning Club, also reveal that 31 per cent of British people are putting aside more money for their 2018 holidays.

By not taking a flight or ferry to far-flung overseas destinations, holidaymakers could reduce their carbon footprint significantly, while also exploring the amazing natural scenery we have in the UK. Studies have found that time spent outdoors is good for children's health and happiness.

The Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2018 will take place at the NEC in Birmingham from February 20th to 25th.
